How the test works
Three parts and an immediate result
The 4MySelf test is 35 to 60 questions about what you did and why. The exact number depends on your answers: the third part asks exactly as many as it takes to put your traits in order. There is no sign-up, answers are saved as you go, and the result is on a personal link.
Step by step
Part 1 — 21 general questionsA scene from the past and two options for what you might have done — each with its cost. Chose an option — name the reason: three to choose from, and "The reason was different". If you never had such a situation, press "Never happened" — the question won't count, and a spare one comes instead. If it's been both ways, there is an answer for that too; it counts for no one.
Part 2 — 5 questions about major decisionsWhere to study, where to go to work, whom to live with. You name the main reason for your choice, then the second most important. Major decisions say more about character than everyday scenes, which is why they are set apart in their own block.
Part 3 — clarifying questionsThe first two parts showed which traits are pronounced in you. The third compares them in pairs and builds the order — it decides which trait leads and which pairing is yours. There are as many questions as needed: ten for some, thirty for others. That is why the total comes to 35 to 60 rather than a fixed number.
The result — immediatelyThe name of your pairing, a one-line essence and the breakdown: which traits are pronounced and in what proportion. This is a working hypothesis based on your answers. Below the result is an offer of the full report for $35; buying it is optional.
How a question is built
A question is not a statement like "I am sociable" but a scene from ordinary life: a promise that became awkward to keep, a choice between work and rest, an argument, a purchase. Then two options for what you did, each with its cost — neither is "right". After the choice comes "why": three reasons to choose from. The reason is what the trait is computed from: the same action grows from different roots in different people.
The bank holds 143 questions: 138 scenes and 5 major decisions. Of these, 35 to 60 take part in one run. You can go back to the previous question and change your answer right up to the end.
No sign-up, on a personal link
There is no account and there won't be one. Your answers and result are kept under a long, unguessable link that only you have. Closed the tab in the middle of the test — come back via that link to the same question: answers are saved as you go. You can retake the test at any time: a new run gets its own link, and the old result stays.
The result page has a button to delete everything: the answers, the profile and the purchased report disappear, and the link stops working. We don't ask for an email for the free result — it's needed only when paying for the report, to send you its link.
